Apply for a disabled parking bay

When we may not be able to provide a disabled parking bay

Applications can only be made for bays on public roads. We may not be able to provide a parking bay if it is considered unsafe either for the bay user or other road users. 

You may meet all the criteria, but may not be granted a parking bay if the location is:

  • Opposite or within 10 metres of a junction
  • Blocks a turning point in the road or causes an obstruction
  • In a clearway, no stopping restriction, or no waiting restriction 
  • On the pavement or a verge
  • A non-highway road
  • On a road which is narrower than 4.8 metres
