The Mayor of Knowsley

Each year, the elected members of the council choose a mayor for the coming year. The Mayor represents Knowsley at public events and ceremonies as well as civic events in other towns, cities and countries.

Public life

Eddie was first elected to Knowsley Council as a Councillor for the Northwood Ward in 1998. He has held a wide range of positions, including being the Cabinet Member for several different portfolios, including:

  • Leisure, Community and Culture;
  • Public Health and Wellbeing; and
  • Neighbourhood Services.

Eddie has also been involved in a wide range of other committees, including Scrutiny, Licensing and Planning and has spent the last few years on a number of bodies, including the Knowsley Borough of Culture Members' Consultative Panel and the Health and Wellbeing Board.
