Why do you need my information?

We need your information via your video clips to make a short film to be shown as part of Knowsley Council’s Meet the Employee Project. 

The aim of the project is to enthuse and inspire Knowsley pupils in schools and colleges and Knowsley residents with learning difficulties, learning disabilities and autism accessing other support services and for them to consider possible employment options.

What allows you to use my information?

Your written consent will allow Knowsley Council to collect and use your information for the purpose of the “Meet the Employee” Project.

Who will my information be shared with?

The information you provide in your video clips will be shared with:

  • Special Education Needs Schools in Knowsley (pupils from the age of 14 upwards)
  • Pupils on supported employment programmes in local colleges
  • Adults with learning disabilities and disabilities in Day Service provision
  • Adults with learning difficulties and disabilities accessing other support services and groups accessing support programmes
  • Your information in the video will be shared via Teams/Zoom meetings
  • Your name and email address may be shared with the school, College, Provider to set up meetings and events.

Do I have to provide this information and what will happen if I don’t?

No.

Our lawful basis for processing your data for this purpose is based on consent. You therefore have the choice whether you want to participate in this project and provide your consent as part of this.

How long will you keep this data for and why?

Your data will be retained until July 2025 as this is the timescale for phase 3 of the project.
You will be contacted in July 2025 and informed if the project will continue to phase 4.

If the project progresses to phase 4, you will be given the option for your data to continue to be used or for it to be withdrawn from the project.
If you request that your data is withdrawn, it will be confidentially destroyed.

In the event that we are unable to make contact with you, your data will automatically be confidentially destroyed.

How will my information be stored?

Your information will be stored electronically on a council secured server.  This will prevent any unauthorised/unlawful processing.  It will also prevent accidental loss, destruction or damage from a technical and operational perspective as IT have backup systems in the case of such eventualities.

Will this information be used to take automated decisions about me?

No

Will my data be transferred abroad?

No

What rights do I have when it comes to my data?

You have the right to withdraw your data at any time throughout the project.

You have the right under the Data Protection Act 2018 (General Data Protection Regulation) to request a copy of your information and to know what it is used for and how it has been shared. This is called the right of subject access.
