Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council are required to keep a record of the employees who have successfully received the incentive payment as part of the Do Something Big recruitment incentive pilot. This enables us to monitor the number of payments made and to ensure we do not dual fund people who try and claim the funding more than once.
What Personal Information Will You Use?
As part of the recruitment process the private voluntary and independent setting will collate some basic information on you such as your forename, family name, address, description of job, date interviewed, and number of hours employed for. We will record this information within an excel spreadsheet,
What Allows You To Use My Information?
The UK Government has recently launched a campaign to encourage more staff to join the profession as Early Years workers. In line with this, if you have joined a provider as an Early Years worker and may be eligible for the incentive payment, we are processing your personal data under Article 6(1)(e) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation as it is necessary for the performance of a task in the public interest (e.g., the recruitment of Early Years staff).
Who Will My Information Be Shared With?
The early years setting that you are employed by will share your personal data with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council for the purposes of claiming the incentive. No personal information will be shared with other parties.
Anonymised aggregate information will be shared with the Department for Education (DfE) such as numbers of recruits who access the pilot and the related payment.
How Long Will You Keep This Data For And Why?
Personal data will be treated in confidence and stored on secure Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council systems.
Personal data is stored in line with our Records Management and Data Protection policies. In accordance with data protection legislation Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council will retain the personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was obtained. Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council will retain the personal data for 7 years, as this data relates to the record of an incentive payment.

What Rights Do I Have When It Comes To My Data?
