Social care staff working in registered care homes in Knowsley aged 18+ are eligible to enter a prize draw if they receive their flu vaccination from October to 8th December 2024. The prize draw is administered by Knowsley Council.

Eligible workers have the chance to win one of four £250 individual cash prizes. Winners should receive their prize prior to Christmas, after providing confirmation of their vaccination status.

The closing date for entering the prize draw is midnight on Sunday 8th December 2024. No entries will be accepted after this time.

Purpose of Collection:

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) is collecting personal data from care home staff who wish to enter the flu vaccine incentive prize draw. Prize draw entry is entirely voluntary and there will be no detriment for any staff member who chooses not to enter the competition. As a public authority, Knowsley Council takes no view on whether individuals should enter or not. Information is being collected to administer the prize draw only.

Legal Basis for Processing:

We are processing this data with your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By choosing to enter the prize draw, you consent to KMBC collecting and processing your data for the purpose of administering the prize draw.  For the processing of personal data regarding confirmation that you have received the flu vaccine via a GP or NHS vaccination record we will be relying on Article 9(2)(a), you provide your explicit consent to the processing of this information.

What Information We Collect:

  • Your name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your contact details (email or phone number)
  • Your care home/place of work

How This Information Will Be Used:

  • To confirm your eligibility for the prize draw (i.e., that you work in a care home registered in Knowsley and are 18 years or older)
  • To contact you if you are a winner of the prize draw.
  • To assess the success of the prize draw in increasing flu vaccine uptake among care home staff
  • To identify your record where consent is withdrawn for data deletion purposes

We Will Also Collect the Following Information from the Prize Draw Winners Only:

  • Confirmation that you have received the flu vaccine e.g. via a GP or NHS vaccination record
  • Bank details including full name on chosen account, account number and sort-code

How Information Provided by Prize Draw Winners Only Will be Used:

  • To confirm your eligibility to win the prize i.e., that you received your flu vaccination during October or November 2024.
  • To pay your cash prize directly into your bank account.

Your data will not be used for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Who Will Have Access to Your Information:

KMBC staff responsible for administering the prize draw including KMBC Public Health staff and the finance team.

How Long Your Information Will Be Retained:

Financial details provided by prize draw winners only will be retained for a period of six years following the conclusion of the prize draw.

All other personal data collected during the prize draw process will be retained for a period of six months following the conclusion of the prize draw. After this period, your data will be securely deleted.

Your Rights:

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and request a copy.
  • Request rectification of any inaccuracies in your personal data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, which will exclude you from the prize draw.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data is being misused.
