Brownfield Register

Knowsley Council maintains a register of previously developed brownfield sites suitable for residential development, complying with government regulations and facilitating efficient housing delivery.

Knowsley Council is required by government to publish a register of previously-developed (‘brownfield’) sites which it considers appropriate for residential development, and which meet the criteria set out in The Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations 2017

The register is intended to help speed up the delivery of new homes by assisting developers to identify suitable housing sites quickly and easily. However, it is for developers to investigate the sites in the register. Knowsley Council does not act as an intermediary between developers and landowners.
