Waste and recycling

As a resident of Knowsley you will be provided with three bins for all household waste (maroon, grey and blue).

Each bin is allocated for a specific type of waste:

• Recycling (grey bin)
• Green/ garden waste (blue bin).
• Residual / all other household waste (maroon bin)

Please make sure you put the appropriate waste in each bin for collection.

Bulky waste collections

If you want to dispose of large or heavy items which won’t go into your household waste bin, you can arrange for them to be collected by the Council.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres

There are two Household Waste and Recycling centres in Knowsley (Huyton and Kirkby) where you can dispose of a wide range of items. By taking your waste and unwanted goods to these tips, we can dispose of them appropriately and recycle wherever possible.
