Roads

Knowsley Council is responsible for maintaining all adopted roads and pavements across Knowsley including repairing potholes, gritting and road markings street lights and traffic signals. The team also undertakes a schedule of repair works to keep streets and pavements safe and in good condition.

Contributions from developers to improve local transport infrastructure are secured through S106 agreements and S278 Highways agreements. These legal agreements are entered into by the developer with the council to directly deliver or provide financial contributions towards improvements that can include the provision of an additional bus services, improvements to bus stops, alterations or improvements to our road, walking and cycling networks.
