CCTV
CCTV plays an important part in Knowsley’s Community Safety Strategy and in providing reassurance to residents and businesses.
Importantly, the borough’s CCTV network has captured crime and anti-social behaviour – as it happens – leading to the successful arrest and prosecution of offenders.
Thanks to major investment the Council now has access to over 1,000 high-definition CCTV cameras across the Borough. These are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and operators can link in directly to Merseyside Police’s Control Room to report incidents live as they happen.
“Our direct link with Knowsley Council’s Control Room has been a valuable resource in our continued and proactive work to address crime and anti-social behaviour in Knowsley. The continued investment from Knowsley Council demonstrates its commitment to building safer communities and gives us even further opportunity to build an intelligence picture of what is happening in our communities so we can respond accordingly.”
