Primary schools
There are 50 primary schools across Knowsley, offering more than 14,000 places for children aged 5 to 11 years old.
90% of these settings have been judged to be OUTSTANDING or GOOD by Ofsted.
From speaking to residents, we understand how important it is for families to be able to secure a place at a school local to them. The Council has a clear strategy and approach to Pupil Place Planning that will ensure that as the borough continues to grow, additional places are created to ensure sufficient school places are available. This also includes ensuring there is adequate provision for children with Special Educational Needs and / or Disabilities.
This robust planning means that in 2023, 100% of applicants were allocated a place at a local Knowsley primary school, with more than 97% of applicants getting a place at one of their top three preferred choices.
Our primary schools provide a range of opportunities for children and young people to learn, develop and socialise by offering an engaging curriculum, an array of extra-curricular activities as well as innovative ways of learning.
