About the Tenancy Bond Scheme
The Tenancy Bond Scheme is a program designed to help homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness in Knowsley find housing in the private sector.
In lieu of a traditional cash deposit, the council provides a bond to the landlord through an agreement that covers damages or rent loss for up to £500.
This bond is valid for 12 months from the start of the tenancy. After 12 months, if the tenant is still residing in the property, the bond expires, and the council no longer holds any liability.
