Description
Yew Tree aims to provide all children with a happy, safe, caring and stimulating learning environment.
They work closely with all families to ensure that children’s unique, individual talents are developed and celebrated. All children are encouraged to achieve the highest possible standards in everything they do, to fulfil their potential and to look forward to a bright future.
Children learn to respect themselves and other people so that together, they can become valued community members. Yew Tree is a one-form entry primary school with a Nursery; there are three Designated Special Provision classes (DSP).
The DSP classes cater for children with a range of needs including, Autistic Spectrum Condition, Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and Complex Learning Needs. All the children in the DSP have an Educational Health and Care Plan, and the Knowsley SEND Team manages admission.

Admissions
Entry into the Designated Special Provision (DSP) is obtained through the Local Authority Consultation process.
Children must have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to be given a place in Yew Tree DSP.
Attending the mainstream school does not give your child a greater chance of getting a place in the DSP.
Consultations come from schools across Knowsley, and places are allocated at Yew Tree DSP based on need, not whether they already attend Yew Tree Primary Academy.
