Northwood Community Primary is a two-form mainstream provision with a 104-place Nursery. We also house a local authority-maintained Designated Special Provision, the Knowsley Language Hub and a private nursery.
Northwood Community Primary School DSP is a 28-place special provision with three classes, for children with social communication, sensory and physical needs and neurological-developmental disabilities (ADHD/ASC).
As a fully inclusive school, they work hard to ensure that every child has access to a curriculum that will develop their emotional, social and academic abilities. All children are provided with stimulating and enriching learning opportunities and are offered bespoke alternative provision as needed. School staff work hard to motivate and challenge with a positive and inclusive approach to learning throughout the school.
Northwood is a central part of the community and welcomes parents and carers into the life of the school.
They offer weekly SEND surgeries, half-termly SEND forums and termly EAL forums. In addition, the Inclusion Team provides signposting to key support agencies and early intervention support.

Admissions
If your child has an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP)
Entry into the Designated Special Provision (DSP) is obtained through the Local Authority Consultation process.
Children must have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to be given a place in Northwood DSP.
Attending the mainstream school does not give your child a greater chance of getting a place in the DSP.
Consultations come from schools across Knowsley, and places are allocated at Northwood DSP based on need, not whether they already attend Northwood Primary mainstream school.
