Early Help

Find out about what Early Help does including how they provide information, advice and guidance to practitioners and what an Early Help Assessment is.

Early Help coordinators provide information, advice and guidance to practitioners when considering how to best assess a child’s needs. They support partner agencies by providing information on services and interventions in Knowsley and neighbouring boroughs, providing advice and guidance on Early Help Assessment processes and procedures and facilitating Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.

An Early Help Assessment (EHA) is a tool for partner agencies to assess and document the needs of children when needs are first identified and to formulate a plan for how these needs are going to be met.

Those agencies involved with the family will all contribute to the assessment and plan. They will meet to review progress as part of the TAF meeting.

Locality Network meetings are held for all partner agencies to come together to discuss best practices, share information and collectively assess the quality of Early Help Assessments across the partnership.

Early Help coordinators can be contacted by telephone at 0151 443 2670.
