Who will own my data once I submit It?
Knowsley Borough Council
Why do you need my information?
The council intends to monitor its fleet using C Track in order to:-
- Analyse fleet vehicle movements so as to maximise utilisation, improve productivity and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency so that we remain the service provider of choice in Knowsley;
- Provide suitable evidence that we take our duty of care responsibilities seriously ensuring our vehicle and plant assets comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements including but not limited to; adherence to Road Traffic Legislation, the Highway Code, The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 and Operators (‘O’) licence;
- Support the defence of any road traffic offences we may wish to challenge;
- Provide supporting evidence for any road traffic accidents/incidents;
- Provide valuable information to Merseyside Police with regard to stolen vehicles;
- Support the Council’s Environmental Policy commitment with respect to reducing the environmental impact of our own fleet vehicles by improving the MPG delivered by the fleet, reducing carbon emissions and fuel costs; and
- Provide evidence to enable us to respond to customer enquiries and complaints with absolute confidence.
- Improve the security and health and safety of our operational workforce, supporting any lone workers and their vehicles;
- Provide appropriate evidence of actual service delivery in order to secure the continued confidence of staff, Knowsley residents and the general public;
The use of telematics technology is now well established across both the private and public sectors. The information these systems can provide has also proven to be essential in protecting the council and its staff against false accusations and insurance claims.

Who will my information be shared with?
Following the initial six month implementation phase, service managers will also be provided with weekly information/data in relation to good practice from their drivers/fleet operators. Issues of potential concern (which if left unattended may become a higher risk to the service and/or the Council) will also be provided.
Service management teams will review areas of concern, having due regard to the ‘Transport Safety and Traffic Management – Core and Grey Fleet: Code of Practice’, so as to ensure that matters are dealt with in a fair, consistent and appropriate manner and may include investigation in accordance with the councils disciplinary process. Service management teams will not however conduct ad hoc 'fishing expeditions' or monitor individual drivers without just reasons and after prior knowledge and agreement of the driver concerned.
