Find out more about who to contact if you see a stray dog, have lost your own dog, or have any concerns about dogs in your neighbourhood. If you are worried about a banned breed, a dog that is out of control, a dangerous or aggressive dog please report to the police on 101 or 999 if there is an imminent risk.

Reporting a found dog

Knowsley Council Stray Dog Collection

Knowsley Council’s Dog Wardens are available Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 2.00 pm.

Drop off

The public can drop a dog off at our nominated Kennels in Salford, Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. 

This can be unannounced. Use the intercom facility on arrival, and a Dog Warden will be in attendance within 20 minutes.

Out of hours

The public can take a dog to the kennels in Salford from Monday to Thursday between 5.00 pm and 11.00 pm and on Sunday and bank holidays from 2:00 pm.

Before attending the kennels out of hours, the finder of a dog must contact 0161 794 8888 in advance of arriving.
