Each year, Knowsley Council’s Constitution is reviewed. The Constitution sets out how the Council operates, how decisions are made and the procedures that have to be followed to ensure decisions are made in an open, transparent and accountable manner.
The Constitution is divided into 7 parts which set out the rules governing the Council’s meetings and decision-making, along with Cabinet Portfolios, Scrutiny Committee arrangements and Budget and Policy Framework procedures. The Constitution also contains Codes of Conduct relating to Elected Members and Co-opted Members, and officers of the Council.
